Now that Tatjana is finally starting share her work on her Vimeo channel, its time to do a little shameless promotion of my talented daughter. I don’t think there was ever any question that she would go into the arts.
Initially it seemed animation would be her calling, but somewhere between doing her foundation course at London College of Communication and transferring to Central St. Martins College of the Arts where she earned her degree – she decided telling a story through editing was more gratifying.
Writing, directing, and editing films in school helped her hone in on her strengths, and where she could indulge her sense of aesthetic with her highly perfectionist nature.
Fresh out of school, Tatjana started assisting editors on large budget films including Paul, Sherlock Holmes II, and Rock of Ages.
While some families might consider it advantageous to have a doctor or lawyer in the family, when you’re a founder member of Duran Duran an editor in the family comes in even more handy. Nick soon roped Tatjana into doing a little freelance re-editing for his live shows too.
By the way, does the room look familiar? Talk about returning to the scene of the crime!
With two style addict parents, Tatjana comes naturally by her appreciation of fashion. She grew up wearing everyone from Yves St. Laurent and Dior to this exquisite one of a kind Vivienne Westwood gown she modeled in the charity show below (at the time she complained the seams were too itchy – now I’ll bet she’d give her eye teeth to wear it again).
So, it’s no surprise that Tatjana seems to have really hit her stride since finding a way to combine both her love of fashion and film with her latest endeavors for Spring Studios – including this stunning Max Mara clip…
… and my absolute favorite – the Giuseppe Zanotti 20th Anniversary Interview. I do wish she’d asked for compensation in shoes – preferably in my size!
The winged sandals have my heart all a flutter, but then… the jeweled ones do match my nickname, however being a Pisces I’d probably have to opt for the fish skelton ones…. oh who am I kidding? I just want them ALL! Regardless, I am so proud of you you Tatjana!
Here’s one of Tatjana’s favorite pasta dishes you can munch on while you watch more of her Vimeo channel. This recipe can be made entirely vegan by substituting vegan sausage and vegan cheese).
Hot Italian Sausage & Broccolini Penne
This is a terrific, delicious quick workday meal to make when you get home in a hurry or the day before. You can make it with chicken or turkey sausage for a healthier option too.
