The Larchmont grill – a sweet neighborhood haunt that makes me feel as if I’m dining in some one’s lovely dining room, rather than a restaurant. Cozy and comfortable, the creative menu also carries uncharacteristically reasonable prices, and friendly service. What’s not to love?

Corn Ravioli, Grilled Shrimp, & Farmhouse Greens in Chipotle Sauce

… followed by delicate corn ravioli, grilled shrimp, and farmhouse greens in a creamy chipotle sauce. I went for the roast half chicken with farmhouse greens and fries. The perfectly crisp, lemony skin went down well with the slightly bitter greens (I seem to be craving greens voraciously lately).

When my Karla and Brit’s dessert, a fig and marscapone tart with caramel and freshly whipped cream, arrived – the cameras came out. Foodies get very serious about their grub.

Chocolate Dipped Bananas on a Stick

I do have to admit, I did cross a line when the bananas smothered in peanut butter, dipped in chocolate, rolled in crushed peanuts on a stick arrived at the table (of strangers) next to us. I boldly interrupted their conversation to ask if I could take a picture of their dessert before they bit into it.

I’ve often wanted to do that, but never had the nerve before. Thankfully, one of them was a food blogger too, so they just giggled as they obliged my cheeky request. I’ll have to go back to taste those bananas next time.
