Okay, so I gave you the cart before the horse – a girl does have to keep her priorities straight! BEFORE we had that scrumpdilicious cake, Karla, Brtyn, and I had a scrumptious dinner at …

Jerry Hall, Nick and Julie Anne Rhodes back in the day

The Larchmont grill – a sweet neighborhood haunt that makes me feel as if I’m dining in some one’s lovely dining room, rather than a restaurant. Cozy and comfortable, the creative menu also carries uncharacteristically reasonable prices, and friendly service. What’s not to love?
Knowing that I had a sinful surprise awaiting me at home, I started with a the beet, roasted walnut, and apricot salad with blackberry vinaigrette on the side. My dinner partners opted for the three course special, beginning with the pear and Roquefort puff pastry topped with spinach and Parmesan…

Corn Ravioli, Grilled Shrimp, & Farmhouse Greens in Chipotle Sauce

… followed by delicate corn ravioli, grilled shrimp, and farmhouse greens in a creamy chipotle sauce. I went for the roast half chicken with farmhouse greens and fries. The perfectly crisp, lemony skin went down well with the slightly bitter greens (I seem to be craving greens voraciously lately).

Like mother, like daughter (foodie style)

When my Karla and Brit’s dessert, a fig and marscapone tart with caramel and freshly whipped cream, arrived – the cameras came out. Foodies get very serious about their grub.

Chocolate Dipped Bananas on a Stick

I do have to admit, I did cross a line when the bananas smothered in peanut butter, dipped in chocolate, rolled in crushed peanuts on a stick arrived at the table (of strangers) next to us. I boldly interrupted their conversation to ask if I could take a picture of their dessert before they bit into it.

I’ve often wanted to do that, but never had the nerve before. Thankfully, one of them was a food blogger too, so they just giggled as they obliged my cheeky request. I’ll have to go back to taste those bananas next time.

My niece and nephew are very patient, and always make sure I photograph their food before they eat it – my ex looked like he wanted to dig a hole to hide in, but refrained from commenting.

The lemon chicken looks really moist and the skin is that wonderful crispy brown colour. So tempting! Love the look of the web site and can't wait until you go live. Just know that it's going to be a smash hit and that you have some wonderful things you haven't told us about as yet. It's like waiting for Christmas to arrive, even better. Hugs to you!
