I know, I know – I’m cupcake obsessed, but these Golden Globe Awards Cupcakes are just too over-the-top adorable not to get a major mention. They make me want to throw a Golden Globes viewing party just to have an excuse to make them.

Golden Globe Cupcakes courtesy of The Cupcake Project
I love Stef’s story too- her good friends were discussing where to buy the cupcakes for their upcoming wedding, and she volunteered – having never made a cupcake in her life! She baked a new cupcake for them to try every week for nine months, found her creative niche, and The Cupcake Project was born winning numerous awards along the way.
Cupcake fun with Maisy
On my list of some of her other more unusual concoctions to try are first place winner Baked Bean & Tomato Cupcakes, Beer Cheese Cupcakes with Bacon Cheddar, Avocado Lime Cupcakes, and the Lavender-Pear Cupcakes. I love her adventurous use of ingredients one would seldom associate with cupcakes, and I’d be baking away right now if she could come up with a calorie, fat, and sugar free one for me (the holiday bulge has got to go).
Cupcake obsessed Jewels
This year’s Golden Globe nominations really lend themselves to some fun and creative finger food ideas too. Of course the cocktail of the evening has to be something along the lines of a martini or brandy Alexander due to Mad Men’s nomination. I’m thinking little crown-shaped filo cups with cucumber and smoked salmon mousse for The Kings Speech. What would you create to honor The Fighter and The Black Swan for best film drama, or Boardwalk Empire and The Good Wife for best television drama?

Hey Isabel – my Lemon Lavender cupcakes are less fattening so long as you go light on the frosting. http://jewelsfromtherovingstove.blogspot.com/2009/06/stop-to-taste-roses-charity-fashion.html

The Cupcake Project is such a cool story! Funny how you don't have to look to hard in life…sometimes your 'thing' finds you! Cupcakes are the perfect serving size of a dessert, n'est pas? Cupcake (kinda funny to comment on this post)

I think I'd make a Boston Cream cupcake for The Fighter (since it takes place in a Boston suburb). I think I'd make a strawberry cream cupcake in honor of that horrifying passive-aggressive cake scene with the protagonist's mother in Black Swan.I'd make a (bathtub) Gin and Tonic cupcake for Boardwalk Empire and maybe tiny deep dish pizzas baked in cupcake tins for The Good Wife since the series takes place in Chicago.

Cupcakes are such a perfect size for a bite of something sweet when you need it, especially the miniature sized ones. I haven't made cupcakes in years. So, maybe a batch baked and frozen without the frosting would be good to have on hand for when guests call to say they are dropping by for a visit. Easy enough to put together a frosting or better yet, serve with some fruit preserves like a chocolate cupcake with cherry preserves and a drizzle of melted chocolate on top. Kind of a little Black Forest cupcake. Now, I want to bake and need an excuse. Anyone for tea? :)

Doesn't have to be all cupcakes – any finger foods would be good for a Golden Globe viewing party.

Those are too cute Jewels! My daughter is going to try to make them (I'm still bedridden after my car accident — going stir crazy — can finally use the computer though)…she just made some awesome almond biscotti with caramel, which I had to fight to get away from! Those would definitely be a great finger food for a golden globe party! Looking forward to the changes on your site coming up! Very exciting stuff…

I think it is the purrrrrrrfect post for you to sign Cupcake! Check out her site – there are so many fun ways she serves cupcakes and unusual ingredients I'll bet are amazing. Very creative!Kris – the bathtub gin is genius and the Boston Cream Pie Cupcakes. Ruthee – the problem with freezing them in this household is that I have no will power where cupcakes are concerned – any surprise guests better be lightening fast in arriving, because frozen does not deter this cupcake monster.Miss you so much Em!

JulieAnne… being from Brazil where cupcakes are not a tradition, but are actually becoming fashionable! Do cupcakes need to have filling? I made a bunch for Xmas with filling and topping… they taste fantastic but all the trouble filling them up is quite tiring… I'm also looking for the perfect white cake recipe to make white cupcakes.. my chocolate cake recipe is just THE ONE for choc lovers! I make turkey-chili muffins that my friends and family seem to love. They are made by putting a layer of dough (made with Bisquick or you can get a roll of already prepared biscuit dough), in the bottom of each cup of a cupcake tin then a scoop full of turkey-chili (I make my own but you can use whatever kind you like), a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese, then top with another small layer of dough and a final tiny sprinkle of cheddar cheese on top. Then just bake in a 350 degree preheated oven until the biscuits are golden brown. Oh, don't forget to spray the cupcake tin with baking spray or grease with butter. My baby sister makes really good red velvet cupcakes too! I don't know what she frosts them with though because it isn't frosting from a can. The frosting is something she makes herself. I'll have to get back to you on that one. Cheers,Dawn

Pizza in a cupcake tin would be almost sacrilegious lol! But I like the idea of mini pizzas for The Good Wife! But for "chicago pizza" don't be puttin' anything weird on those pizzas! sauce, cheese, sausage/pepperoni, green pepper & onion. Had pizza in Ireland once, canned corn…. blech!
